Plenty of researchers have been studying tourist destinations from the development point of view. They often use system dynamics as a method for that purpose and predict the future development of tourist areas on the basis of mathematical simulation models. For the model to be processed, it is necessary to identify all essential variables correctly and, simultaneously to know their influence on other components of the created system. Based on the conducted literature review, analysing visitor satisfaction as an essential subsystem of a tourist destination appears to be a research gap. Moreover, visitors and their satisfaction is a fundamental matter concerning the long-term prosperity of any tourist destination.
The research within the project and its outputs will be based on the system dynamics method and simulation modelling.
Part of the project will also concern the evaluation of visitor satisfaction.
The joint outputs of the project's research team will be two articles in scientific journals and active participation in an international scientific conference.
The project logically connects the research activities of two doctoral students led by the same supervisor (Petr Štumpf). Detailed analyzes of visitor satisfaction in destinations (Tereza Kubalová) will be used as a database for the creation of system dynamic models and their possible calibration and validation (Tomáš Čihák).
