The current state of the economy is affected by significant changes due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also other crises that followed. Significant changes and impacts have also taken place in the tourism and hospitality sectors, which are reported to have been the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Adaptation to the changed environment was necessary for numerous companies operating in tourism and hospitality, but also for public administration entities. Tourism facilities and operators have had to significantly innovate their strategies to remain competitive in the context of the national and international market. Tourism demand has also changed. Travel behaviour has changed at all stages of consumer decision-making. This project aims to investigate these changes and, through detailed data analysis, propose steps to better adapt to them and thus strengthen their resilience to further future changes. The project will mainly focus on the Czech environment, which, however, has a significant international dimension due to the nature of tourism. The changes that are coming to the domestic economic environment from outside are international, whether they are global changes or crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic or regional changes such as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, etc. The project will include research on both tourism demand and supply, but also on the changed economic environment that can significantly shape both demand and supply.
