Law in Business in Selected Member States of the European Union (XVI. ročník)

The aim of the present grant project proposal is to organize the 16th International Scientific Conference on "Law in Business in Selected Member States of the European Union". It is proposed to shorten the conference to one day due to a change in the funding conditions, where the grant can no longer finance refreshments for the participants.

During the last years, the Department of Business and European Law of the Faculty of Business and European Law of the University of Economics has been working hard on internationalisation and networking with the international scientific community. With regard to the priority of internationalization, the conference should be aimed not only at participants from the Czech Republic or Slovakia, but also at foreign participants. The conference language will be English, which will also be the exclusive language for accepting papers. The output of the international conference will be the publication of two proceedings with ISBN/ISSN. For the purpose of the peer-review process it will be necessary to provide language proofreading. In 2024, the Proceedings of the XVth Conference have been awarded the prestigious indexing in the indexed journal Web of Science and have been accepted for publication by ADJURIS - International Academic Publisher. If the quality of the papers is adequate, the conference organizing committee intends to submit the conference proceedings for indexing by WoS. The international scientific committee will be composed of academics and officials of EU institutions.

The International Conference is an opportunity for academics and students of PhD programmes to present the results of their creative scientific work and provides an opportunity for publication for their dissertation or academic portfolio. The conference is an important source of knowledge exchange between academics from different countries and an engine for their academic development and growth. Last but not least, the conference fulfils the tasks of establishing contacts for deeper academic collaboration with foreign institutions. Participation in the conference is not dependent on payment of registration or other fees. It is a long-term goal to try to expand the international reach of the conference and to attract international participants and speakers. The organizing committee plans to submit the final conference proceedings for prestigious indexing in WoS based on peer review, review by the scientific committee and after language proofreading.

The conference is planned for 17 October 2025 at the premises of the University of Economics in Prague. One online panel is planned.

The annual focus of the conference is on current challenges of law in business in selected EU Member States (including the Czech Republic). The conference will be divided into several thematic sections according to the professional focus of the contributions, such as commercial law, financial and banking law, competition law, IT law, and issues of legal aspects of business in EU Member States.

The conference continues a long tradition of conferences organised by the Department of Business and European Law of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics. In recent years, the conference has enjoyed sufficient interest of participants.
