The research project aims to address the major challenges of a polycrisis (a situation where multiple crises occur simultaneously and interact in ways that amplify their overall impact, making the combined effect more severe than the sum of the individual crises) for public finances. The partial objectives include: (1) asses public finance sustainability, (2) determine factors affecting tax revenue and tax efficiency, particularly focusing on the impact of external shocks, and (3) examine existing cutback management strategies in the Czech public administration. A research team composed of doctoral students form the Department of Public Finance will employ modern quantitative methods (e.g. regression analysis of time series, panel regression analysis, cluster analysis) to reach the above objectives and fulfill the publication obligations of their studies.
