The increasing use of virtual reality (VR) technology in the workplace prompts vital discussions on diversity, inclusion, and representation of identities. This research explores the intersection of diversity and inclusion considerations when designing, implementing, and using VR technologies for remote teams in organizational settings. The study addresses two primary themes: self-presentation and perception of self in VR, and human interactions in VR. It investigates how self-representation should be governed in VR to foster diversity and inclusion, and how social interactions within VR can be regulated to promote these values. The research employs a qualitative, theory-building methodology, synthesizing existing literature and providing recommendations for fostering inclusive VR experiences. The study aims to identify key considerations and approaches that can help organizations create inclusive virtual environments for their remote teams, ultimately contributing to the theoretical discourse and offering actionable insights for research and practice.
