This project advances our understanding of cooperative behavior in social dilemmas through
three experimental studies. Study 1 focuses on designing material incentives in public good
games with the aim to stimulate contributions from both pro-socially driven and materially-driven participants. Study 2 investigates the interaction of peer punishment and local public good properties on contributions and efficiency in multilevel public good games. Study 3 addresses the puzzle of conditional cooperation with computers by applying a de-biasing technique to the measurement of such cooperation. Findings from these studies will inform design of more effective fundraising mechanisms and organizational structures with the ultimate objective of enhancing social efficiency.
